Details on Marshal Meadows:
Marshal Meadows lies within the Harrowgate Heath lands and is situated approximately 45 minutes south of Ottawa, an hour west of Cornwall, 1 1/2 hours east of Kingston. This is our hobby farm and there are a few little things we would like you to know about your attendance to participate in activities here. We would love to welcome all archers, fencers and fighters to come down and make use of our large open areas to practice in. Our archery range can accommodate a fair number of archers, though sometimes we have to take turns if there are too many folks on the line. Just want to sit around and socialize or do A&S? All are welcome, as are children!
We don't provide any facilities for shelter from rain, bringing your rain gear or sunshades may help if the weather turns wet (or the shade to take shelter from the heat in the summer months). We won't hold practices if the weather looks bad and forecasted to be raining all day. There are mosquitoes and other insects here, be prepared. (most times it isn't very bad for the bugs).
We do have a water hose for anyone that would like to wash under or drink from (the water is from our own well and is very good, safe, and clean water, and great to drink! - doesn't taste like city water!).
**************No dogs allowed! We are sorry that we cannot allow anyone to bring their dogs to our farm, tied up or otherwise! We raise pet chickens and we don't want them to be stressed by the presence of dogs (Chickens can literally have heart attacks if scared, and dogs are a feared predator to them).***************
Please supply your own food and drink (other than the water which is all we can supply). No alcohol allowed on our farm premises! This is a dry site!
We do have several shade trees, bring your chairs or blankets and relax under them :)
Most importantly, we want everyone to have a fun and safe time on our farm, we enjoy having folks here! (if I may be so bold as to say it's picturesque on our farm and great for photo ops!:)
Cheers
Lady Skye de Makesaye (formally Lady Hawise) - Keeper of the Flock
