Armoured Combat

One of the most visible aspects of the SCA is armoured combat. Men and women wearing full armour, attacking each other with rattan weapons seems to attract attention. Harrowgate Heath is proud to have a fine group participating in the armoured combat aspects of the SCA, representing the Canton at battles across the known lands.

Fighter practices are normally held Monday nights from 7 pm to 9 pm in Cornwall. Currently practices are held in the auditorium on the second floor of St. Joseph's Catholic Secondary School in Cornwall. (1500A Cumberland Street, Cornwall, Ontario K6J 5V9)

For newcomers wishing to try our armoured combat, loaner equipment is available.

To confirm that there is a practice planned or to make arangements for loaner equipment, please call our Marshal, Lady Morag Tayler (real name, Christine Brewer) at 613-448-1094.

More information about armoured combat in the SCA can be found in the Ealdormere Armoured Combat Handbook.

Rapier Combat

At the current time, Harrowgate does not have a Rapier Marshal, and thus we cannot arrange Rapier practices. We hope to begin weekly practices in our lands when we are able to do so.

In the meantime, the Canton of Caldrithig currently holds Rapier practice Thursdays at 8:00 p.m. - 10:00 p.m. at Jack Purcell Community Centre (320 Elgin St., Ottawa).

More information on this can be found at: http://www.skraelingalthing.com/caldrithig/activities/rapier.shtml.
